Birthdays are overrated.

This song is pretty eerie but I like it. It's the kind of song which you can't remember the main tune, but you can't stop listening to it again and again. I like it.

Been up to a whole bunch of stuff lately. University, outings, aimless walks around town, public bus rides, window shopping, actual shopping, yada yada. The funny thing is I don't seem to be needing as much sleep as before. I sleep late and wake up early. Trust me, I've tried sleeping without setting my alarm and I'm still up by 7 or 8am. Mostly 7 ish now. Am I turning senile? What the nonsense.

I used to dread the thought of turning old, which meant that I usually didn't look forward to birthdays. Hur. That's pretty weird, no? Birthdays are supposed to be all fun and joy and laughter and whatever happy word there is out there, but I just don't see it that way. I mean, there are plenty of joyous occasions happening throughout the year itself, right? Some are worthy of being labelled epic. Birthdays shouldn't be the highlight of the year. The entire year should be looked forward to. Anticipated. That's the way we should live. Yata!

Okay, for a few weeks I've been googling Prince George's Park Residences hoping to catch a sneak peak of the rooms. Sadly, I couldn't find any recent pictures. AT ALL. People are just too lazy to upload, huh. Anyway, the moment I reached I whipped out my camera. In the blog they go.

Was pretty impressed by the room. A little small, I suppose. But I had a smaller room back in Anglican House, so I was satisfied. And oh yeah. Did I mention this one's a single room?

The study table is built in, so it's quite sturdy. Nice. The shelf below is movable though. Wheels.

The bed size? Single. But I bought a super single bedsheet and it fit just nicely. Apparently they don't sell single size bedsheets anymore. Asked around. People sleep with their limbs outstretched now. How comfortable. Heh.

The wardrobe. There's a set of drawers in there that can be locked. Lots of space for clothes, with extra storage units above and below.

Common toilets. Is it me or was I the only one using the toilets? Super squeaky clean.

Common kitchen. Each floor has its own, so don't worry about the fridge getting hogged. Looked unused. The kettle smelled funky.

They have an electric oven! Oooh.

Doubt I'll use it. Haha.

Main foyer. Looks like some high class condo.

And the best part, the minimart! They have everything here, from pillows to cereal to stationery! I even found a USB hub there. And cheap cheap too. Fairprice ain't got nothing against them. Just a 2 min walk from my place.

So there you go. PGPR, 2010 edition.
You're welcome.

My Oh My.

Four months left till doomsday.
Say waht? Not another doomsday? I thought that was over a loooong time ago.

Nah, I'm kidding. Sounds more dramatic if I call it that, anyway. The start of Uni! The dawn of a new era, the beginning of a new chapter in my life, etc etc. Ish, I have way too many corny lines in my system. My mom was all 'Wow, I finally have a daughter in university! So old already, blah blah blah' Heh, adults. (no I would prefer not to be labeled as an adult just yet as I'm technically still a teen, hello) It's a peculiar feeling, this bubbling excitement to return to school. It's like I feel kinda bored staying at home slacking away (not that I don't enjoy it) and would rather do something more productive (read: study) (my nerdy roots kick in, so waht?) But. I also don't want to leave this lovely home of mine that soon. No more indian food, Wii nights, Gurney outings, green tea ice cream! These are the little things that make me go Man, I miss that place. I probably won't get to stay here for almost a year, ever again. OMG sad thoughts go away.

Happy thoughts, now. I found so much new music online! Why have I not heard of Meg&Dia, The Academy Is, Julian Perretta, Neon Trees! I've seriously been living under a heavy, noise cancelling rock. Period. I've died and gone to music heaven (ouch, there goes another corny line) From now on, I shall not have any commercial radio music in my library. Not that I don't like them. Of course, they release catchy tunes that go straight to no. 1 and get stuck in your head forever. But you get enough of them on the radio already, isn't that right? Plus I wouldn't feel that bad if some big artist comes to Malaysia for a concert. Come on, they're already major superstars! They've got enough moolah to feed a third world country, I'm sure. More power to the new up and coming bands! Woohoo!

Unexpected phone calls are fun.

Good album.
Such a shame I hear stories of her cutting.

Was intending to wake up early this morning for the usual but ended up sleeping in. Man, school gives me fatigue. More than anything else. And I just spent my morning watching a couple of episodes of What I Like About You. Season 1. Not too slapstick. (btw, why slapstick? why slap? why stick? puzzling) Makes for a good morning breakfast companion.

NLB yesterday. Finished up Chem, which was an absolute bore. Nevertheless, so happy I'm done with that. Today's objective : physics. ARGH. My 'favourite' subject. Sorry Mr G, but I just can't find any joy in it. Believe me, I've tried.

Never really explored NLB before. Found out they have an entire floor just for noobs like me to mug. And they extended hours too. Yet again, you impress me Singapore. All for the sake of conducive learning. Nyeh. The place's really good for people watching though. Or shall I call it observing? Interesting.

Orchard Central. A building with the stairway to heaven. Literally.
Well, not exactly a stairway, but an escalator. Yep, it's more high tech now. Haha. But seriously though, there's a real heaven up at the end.

Quiznoz for dinner. Yum! Beats Subway hands down. Too bad there's only 3 branches. :/
Today : Edu fair. Whoopee.

Ah yes. Here I am again. Well, I had this urge to liven things up here. Went to the very publicised Robinson's Sale at Expo. T'was my first time there. Yep, I'm an Expo virgin. Nothing to shout about, really. Reminded me of Suntec. That's the thing with buildings in Singapore. I think they're all probably designed by the same people. Everything single one looks the same! Puzzling. Grey, metallic walls with those high glass thingies. Boring, much?

Anyway, they had Esprit! I was hyperventilating when I saw the awesome red banner. Gosh I love Esprit. I get all nostalgic everytime I even step into an Esprit store. Remembering all those times I had back in Penang with my mom, choosing and trying, deciding for hours over which colour suits me best. Oh, how I miss. But I didn't even buy anything this time round. So disappointing. Lost its appeal.

BUT, I did manage to get these cute little pair of metallic brown sandals, for less than 20 SGD. That kinda made my day, for a bit there. Buying new things is therapeutic. And now I'm contemplating whether to do Chem when I know I'm supposed to.

STUPID CHINESE EGGROLLS.

I should go.

OOOOOOOO
I discovered a brand new boy band to be obsessed with.
All. Over. Again.
Please shoot me.
For I am mentallly unstable. =S
Check them out.
VARSITY FANCLUB.

I know, I know.
Looks very boh liao/lame.
I mean, what type of name is that??? VARSITY FANCLUB?!
What do you call their fanclub then?
Varsity Fanclub's Fanclub?
HAHAHAHA.
And my sister was complaining there were too many people in the group.
Too many names to remember. haha.
I used to think they were lame too. Serious.
I was all, eww. Not another boyband wannabe.
And not to mention the guys look ahem, not quite 'man'.
Yeesh I know I'm being hypocritical (NLTfan FOREVER DUDE)
But one listen and BOOM.
I'm downloading every song like there's nothing better to do.

Fan vid. Now the official stuff.

BTW girls you have GOT to read this. If you don't I swear I will keep reminding you to read it.

Nah, I'm kidding. But I'm still expecting you to read it. =)

Back in Penang. Recap of ohsomany AWESOME events.

Thursday:

Woo. Rihanna babeh. Skipped school today to finish all my packing. Finally managed to pack every single thing. Pesky pesky work. Had to finish everything before I went to fetch my sister from Changi. After that went off to Plaza Sing for some shopping. Which was pretty unproductive. Came back empty handed. Haha. Anyway, rushed back to hostel. You already know what for. ;) Pictures in next post.

Picked hanlyn up at around 7 plus at Kallang. So sorry for the wait Feet. My bad.
So...
How was concert? ABSOLUTELYAWESOME. She sings live. Period. No lip syncing or whatever nonsense. All her. And she was early! Impressed. Concert was scheduled to begin at 8 but she came on at 8.30-ish. Not bad, compared to Miss Avril who was one hour and 15 mins late. Bleh. Oh yeah, they didn't allow us to bring in our umbrellas! So not cool. I mean, her no. 1 hit is umbrella so they don't want us to steal her groove by having nicer umbrellas is it? 0.O

And yeah, she was considered to be early. She opened the show with Disturbia. Darn cool. She was standing high up on this pedestal thingy. Too cool for me to even describe. Feet and me were jumping like nobody's business. Haha.

DUM DUM DI DUM DUM DUM DI DUM DUM

Then eh, she doesn't seem to be singing. We could only hear the background music. Turns out her mic wasn't working. And it was the first song. Whoa. She was super pissed. But I still love her LOL. She has some attitude man. Went around the stage getting her fans to scream and stuff. So powerful la. She just has to raise her hands and everyone screams.

Then she got a new mic for her next song. She's seriously as pretty as she looks in her music videos. My sister was all OMG OMG IT'S RIHANNA. Haha. Me too la.

Anyway the concert was overall really entertaining. Had us on our feet most of the time. Very very danceable. Me likey. BUT. Yes, there's a but. Guess how long it lasted? 1 hour. %^&*
YEAH. ONLY ONE HOUR. That's like one lecture?! Everyone was going WTH after Umbrella. Quote : "Wahlau, where can like that one?!" I agree. -_-

So it ended around 9.30. !!! That's like much earlier than a regular kid's bedtime, right? Killed time by camwhoring. Camwhore camwhore then heard a lot of screams from one corner. So we ran there. Haha. Like crazy fans. Turns out people were waiting for Rihanna to leave. We waited together too. Yawn. Waited for ages. Entertained ourselves. Eg. When this guy with white hair and white beard came out, Feet went OMG IT'S SANTA CLAUSE! and started clapping. LOL.

LAWAK.

Didn't get to catch even a glimpse of her. Just her stretch limo. Haih. And that was it. The end.

PS. I think I saw Rihanna's no. 1 fan. Honestly. He knew EVERY SINGLE WORD to EVERY SONG. Brent no.2. Haha.

Friday:

Woke up early to show Brent all my concert videos. Which are currently being uploaded on youtube. =) He so funny. Asked me whether she was wearing a black bra. I said I doubt she even wore a bra. LOL.

Then went to TM with him and my sister. Had lunch at Popeye's after that. I'll miss Popeye's. Beats BK, KFC and Mcd hands down. Picked my mom up at around 2.45. Went back to hostel. Met Brent again. Introduced everyone. Then my mom was like, why don't you join us? =) So we went to Bugis together. Shopshopshop. Gonna miss shopping in Singapore. A lot. Oh well. Penang's still home to me.

Left at around 10.15. Knocked out pretty early. Had a long day ahead.

Saturday - yesterday:
Mom's birthday! Surprised her with a card. =) Checked out early to catch our flight at 11.05. And BAM I'm back. What was the first thing I did when I came back? SLEEP. Haha. Was so exhausted. All the late nights finally caught up on me. And so I slept like a pig. Nice.

Today:
Blogging time. And this is the result. Hehe.

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Ooh. If you still didn't know, Britney's back.

Womanizer. haha. I just find it amusing for her first single to be called that. Dang I can't find a nice picture to entertain you people. Oh well. Btw her latest album's called Circus. Out of all names. Oh Britney, you never fail to entertain us. Haha.

Kill The Lights is good. I mean, they don't even have the full song on the net yet. What I have is the instrumental version and it's already GOOD.

And oh yeah! Rihanna's coming to Singapore! Nov 13! Before I go back! Sweet.

And the cue starts now:
Ella. ella. eh eh eh.
I must go for this. =)
